i live in asheville, nc with my wife liz, son chester and daughter busy. we used to have five chickens but they all died within a two-week-period, so now I have a vacant chicken coop.

we moved here a few years ago as an experiment and it clicked. now we spend most of our time trying to build and support useful stuff here. examples include:

impact wnc fund, where I'm a partner. the fund supports risk-taking companies whose growth will make for (imho) a more exciting future for western North Carolina.

i just joined the board of the pearl institute, a psychedelic therapy clinic run by an excellent husband-and-wife team

we try to support random cool things around town. for instance, we helped to build a processing shed at a terrific chicken farm and paid for the toilet at a creative studio space.

- I continue to work at a drug company I co-founded, sensorium therapeutics. the company has some local investors and we make efforts to support the region as well.
